Fault Lines in Bahrain

The U.S. and the New Middle East

At this Aug. 9, 2011, event, the New America Foundation’s Middle East Task Force and Al Jazeera English presented an exclusive screening of "Fault Lines."

After screening the 30-minute documentary -- which can be viewed as part of the full-event video available at right -- the participants explored the question of why Washington has backed democracy in one Arab country, but not another. Highlights of that conversation are available in the short video that is displayed above.
